Our 12-day expedition takes you through the most spectacular Carnival celebrations in Latin America and the Caribbean, with carefully timed visits to experience each festival at its peak.
Days 1-4 Rio de Janeiro, Brazil - The Grand Carnival
Arrive in Rio de Janeiro, where a WanderLern representative will greet you. Transfer to your hotel in Copacabana or Ipanema.
Day 1: Evening welcome dinner with introduction to Brazilian Carnival traditions.
Day 2: Visit a samba school rehearsal and learn about the preparations for the parade. Afternoon tour of Rio's highlights including Christ the Redeemer and Sugarloaf Mountain.
Day 3: Experience the Sambadrome parade with premium seats to watch the Group Special schools competition.
Day 4: Street blocos (block parties) experience and traditional Brazilian churrascaria dinner.

Days 5-7 Barranquilla, Colombia - Carnival of Flowers
Day 5: Fly to Barranquilla, Colombia. Settle into your hotel in the city center.
Day 6: Experience the Battle of Flowers parade, the centerpiece of Barranquilla's Carnival featuring elaborate floats, costumes, and cumbia music.
Day 7: Great Parade tradition with comparison of folkloric groups. Evening celebration of the Orchestra Festival with salsa and vallenato music.
Highlights: Meeting with local Carnival artisans, traditional Colombian food tasting, and participation in cumbia dance workshops.

Days 8-11 Port of Spain, Trinidad - Caribbean Carnival
Day 8: Fly to Port of Spain, Trinidad. Orientation tour of the city and introduction to Trinidadian Carnival traditions.
Day 9: Panorama steelpan competition experience - witness the national steelband competition.
Day 10: J'ouvert morning celebration - participate in the predawn street party with paint, mud, and powder.
Day 11: Carnival Tuesday parade - join a mas band or watch the spectacular costume parade through the streets of Port of Spain.
Evening: Farewell dinner celebrating your triple Carnival experience.

Day 12 Departure from Port of Spain
